Procedures Offered at Dallas Bariatric Center
Dallas Bariatric Center offers a variety of services, including surgical and non-surgical options.
Gastric Balloon
This is a simple, non-surgical outpatient procedure. We offer the Obalon Balloon System, as well as ORBERA™ Intra-Gastric Balloon. Find out more detailed information here.
Sleeve Gastrectomy
A type of restrictive laparoscopic bariatric surgery, sleeve gastrectomy is typically only considered for patients with a BMI of 38 or more, or if the patient has had a failed previous LAP-BAND surgery. Get additional information and watch a video here.
Gastric Bypass
This weight loss option is either done through open surgery or laparoscopically. It alters the way your stomach and small intestine digest the food you eat. Read more here.
LAP-BAND® System
The LAP-BAND (Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band) System is a surgical bariatric procedure that’s used for obese patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 35. Find out more and watch a video here.
SILS™ Procedure
Single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS™ procedure) is a minimally invasive technique developed by Covidien. At Dallas Bariatric Center, this technique can be used to perform a sleeve gastrectomy or to insert a laparoscopic band. With SILS™ procedure, only one surgical incision is made (in the left abdomen) and there is little to no visible scarring. Pain and healing time are also greatly reduced. Learn more here.
Additional Procedures Available
Gastric Plication
This less invasive procedure, also known as IBand or Reversible Sleeve, is a relatively new procedure that is performed by folding and stitching a large portion of the stomach into a narrow tube. Watch a video to learn more here.
Revisional Surgery
Revisional (reoperative) bariatric surgery may be performed for problems and complications resulting from a previous bariatric procedure or for unsatisfactory weight loss. While this type of surgery is uncommon, it is an effective option that can be performed if deemed necessary. Get more information here.
